First-digit frequency test across transaction populations. Improbable digit distributions flag fabricated or manipulated data.
Journal Entry Testing
End-of-period manipulation signals: unusual manual entries, round-number postings, late-day journals, and management override patterns.
Lapping Detection
Cross-references AR aging against bank deposit timing to surface sequential payment fraud — misapplied receipts and rotated balances.
